Installing the Randall Knife Collection

  1. Quit all applications and close all windows on your desktop.
  2. Place the Randall CD in your CD-ROM drive.
  3. When you close the drive, the installtion program should auto-start.
  4. To manually run the install program, follow these instructions:
    1. Click on the Start Button on your desktop.
    2. Click on Run to activate the Run Window.
    3. Click on the Browse Button.
    4. Double-click on the CD called "Randall_CD".
    5. Highlight the "Setup.exe" program and click the Open Button.
    6. Click on the OK Button in the Run Window and Install will start.
  5. From this point, follow the on-screen instructions.
This will install the Randall program, a desktop icon and a program folder under Programs. However, due to the large storage space required for the newsletters and catalogs, they remain on the CD and the CD must be in the CD-ROM drive for the program to operate.

It is recommended that, if space is available on your hard drive, you load the newsletters and/or catalogs onto the hard drive. This relieves the necessity of having to load the Randall CD-ROM to run the program and will also considerably speed up the information search functions.

The command to accomplish this is located on a button on the main entry screen called:
System Setup
Click on this button and a setup screen will be displayed. Click on the Copy to HD Button for either the Newsletters or the Catalogs to load them onto the hard drive. The system will double check that sufficient hard drive storage is available.
